Below are some highlights from the interview:

Ross Carey- Tell me about the first day on set of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Mary Elizabeth Ellis- Yeah, it was super exciting.  Just a little bit of background, we shot that pilot two or three times and then they shot a second episode as well.  David Hornsby who plays Rickety Cricket was originally playing Mac because Rob didn’t want to act in it he just wanted it to be his show. David was out of town when they reshot it so Rob played the part.  But, especially because we had done it so many times and had shot it with, literally them [Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day] switching off holding the boom and whose house we would be shooting at.  I definitely remember being on set and being like, holy shit, all of these people work for you dude. It is amazing and overwhelming and really exciting at how many people it takes to put on a televisions show.

Ross Carey- Is being a working actress what you thought it would be?

Mary Elizabeth Ellis- You know, it’s funny because I haven’t worked like this before, Perfect Couples is my first lead in a show. Now that the work is over and it’s starting to premiere this is when everyone in the world who you are friends with gets excited to see the show, but now is the time as in actor where you just of sit by your window and sigh and ask yourself, oh my god  am I ever going to work again? That’s where having the ability to grow things for yourself and create content, I think comes in and really helps.

Mary Elizabeth Ellis is an actress currently starring on Perfect Couples and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
